  • Ever feel this way?

Have you ever felt this way? If the weather works with you, then you are a hero, if it doesn't you're not.

Recruiting the best - Dennis Faust started his career with Lawn Doctor in 1975 as a lawn technician **** the guy who puts down the fertilizer.

Six years later he was running a Lawn Doctor franchise of his own.

In another 10 years he would be selling territory to other franchisees and expanding his own territory south of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal.

Today the Odessa resident owns Lawn Doctor franchises in Florida and Delaware, including Lawn Doctor of Dover-Middletown.

The territory of that franchise extends from the canal south to the Sussex County line.

Faust laid claim to that territory in 1991 because he saw the growth potential.

"It was a vast area with a good home count and more room for expansion as time went on, and it's coming to pass," he said.

Thirty years in the lawn-care field have taught Faust that delivering a good product or service is only part of the business equation. Some things he can't control.

"If the weather's good I'm a hero," he said. "If the weather's bad, I'm not."
