  • Homeowner leaf vac for leaf removal?

Anyone use a non commercial leaf vac for leaf removal? Would something like this be worth the investment or am I better off with just using a backpack blower and tarp? http://poconos.craigslist.org/grd/5272891261.html

You should be able to get a used Billy Goat vac for around the same price depending on condition. I had one when I was up North and it worked good. The bag fills up fast and can get heavy though.

Yeah that one went quick. It was a Craftsman 6HP 4in1 leaf vacuum. It looked like it was in really good shape and the guy had dropped it from $250 to $100 because he was moving. All the Billy Goats I've seen in my area start in the $350 range not including the hose kit.

Just doing a quick search in the same area as the one you posted. Don't let the old engines / models deter you. Newer isn't always better

I'm leaning towards the first one you listed. The guy said he's willing to come down a little but the bag was new last year and cost $100. What do you think is a far value on that machine?

Heck, if it runs well for $150, that should really cut down on the time you spend collecting leaves.

Honestly, you're already stealing it at $150. They aren't cheap new by a long shot and they haven't really changed all that much except the engines.
