  • Velke shaft bent

My walk-behind fell off my liftgate and landed on the velke & ECS handles. Can this be fixed?

A good heat job (torches) to it may work... Take out the bushings first..

When you took it apart, was there any damage to the part the velke attaches too? It looks like the bottom part might have been damaged around the gold base.

        bottom? gold base?

That's the top and bottom of the pivot sleeve, the part that's bent is the shaft that goes through it. The shaft is part of of the section that your feet actually go in, the part where the loop is for attaching chain.

When you are dealing with that much weight in a fall, it wouldn't be too difficult for both parts to be damaged.

If you aren't able to straighten the shaft with a torch, maybe you can order a shaft that can be reattached? I don't know how it is connected, possibly it will need to be cut out and a new one welded in?
