  • Lawn mowing designs

you know the creativity amongst alot of us runs rapant. you can only go horizontal and vertical up and down and sideways so many times before its gets rather boring somewhat. Anybody have a good selection of patterns or designs that they can share with or at least point me to the right direction?.
thanks. I mowed this one earlier today.. i kinda liked it nothing fancy by any means, been raining alot here.

Usually grass looks best when cut lengthwise, it's easiest to do.

Though for the back yard of many residential homes, you are able to mow in different angles creating a new & awesome look.

      Mike the picture looks great.

Has anyone ever experimented with cutting a lawn in kind of a serpentine pattern like this?

        hmmm

you mean in a circular pattern?. I did one around my kids sandbox once and then came out vertically. looked like a sun shape. i thought it looked good. maybe if i had a stripper it would have made the difference. Id like to know how they get the squares looking so good and standing out. Seems hard to me.

How do you go about doing that design? That is pretty complex!

              Tried to edit...

That's not one of my lawns, just an image I found. Just showing that some curved stripes can look great if done right.

That picture is actually from the cover of a book called "Picture Perfect Mowing Techniques for Lawns, landscapes and sports." By David R. Mellor. The author is a master ************* for Fennway park from what I understand.

I want to mow my face into the grass.

Then have a dog doo to fill my pupils.

I just did this design about an hour ago. The light is not right so you cannot see the lines as well as you would in the morning...but I am sure you get the idea.

That is so cool! how tough was it to do that and how much more time did it take versus when you normally cut it?

I tried out a design last week, & tried out a new one... I don't really like what I did in the backyard, but I gave it a shot today... lol

                          Ritchiem,

Great job. I love the view. Man I miss my summer trips up to Canada. Toronto, Niagara Falls, Alex Bay and the 1000 Islands. I could see myself sitting in your client’s backyard drinking some Molson Golden.

Looks great. If I remember correctly, you do those just with your mower?

I did it with my 48" Walkbehind and it was not tough at all. I probably took me about 15mins to do it...whereas it would normally take me about 10 minutes to mow the lawn. Only because you pass over about half the lawn twice.

Yes this lawn is just with my 48" Exmark Hydro Viking without a striping kit.

And about half my clients are on Georgian Bay...on the hot days we always blast down to the water. I love it here.
