I don't know why but I think my business account is not working alright since my account is 5 digits and paypal only counts the last 4.. So I don't know if it's working properly, but I do have the option of accepting Visa/Mastercard and all the rest on my site.
Do you think other lawn care business owners should be using paypal on their site? Is it popular?
Well it all depends on the customer but it is always a good backup to have. I assume it's popular. I have justposted my old digital camera for sale and I've got a few e-mails people asking if I have a paypal account so they can send me their money.
That's how I manage to pay Bob from Plan-it graphics since I am from Canada and Bob is from the U.S.A.
So now I tell my customers if they have an e-mail, they can use paypal/credit card to pay me. I've installed the Paypal outlook payment request wizard plugin for Microsoft Outlook so when I send a PDF invoice, I send my customer the option to pay with Paypal
For those who are debating whether or not to use Paypal or another merchant service to collect money via credit cards......
Paypal has probably the lowest rates you will find unless you process more than 10k a month. I have two other merchant accounts, Authorize.net and innovative merchant solutions, neither of these processors offer me lower rates like Paypal is offering. The only drawback, for me at least, is when a customer uses Paypal instead of my other solutions, he/she is directed away from my site and required to login or register to complete the transaction. When they choose my other processing solution there is no redirection, customer enters the cc info and its done. I like this method better because its much easier for the customer.
You can change those redirection in Paypal settings
Yes you can but...
If your using Paypal you CANT process the card outside of thier secure site. This is why they offer these rates, cards are authenticated on thier checkout page. I process cards on my site from beginning to end, the user is never taken to another site. This is how it works and there is no other way with Paypal.
