    Hi Anthony,

Welcome to our forum! What got you interested in starting your own lawn care business?

I have grossed $25k just wondering if this is good or bad or avg. for the first 9 months. I've avg about 20 clients.
The gross probably isn't as important as the net income. Because you could potentially make a $25k gross income and spend $30k getting there.

Have you calculated your net income from the $25k gross? Have you figured out what your biggest expenditures were?

Well it all really depends...what type of services did you offer? What is your productivity and charge out rates? Have you been creating profit and loss statements? You make me nervous that you are asking at the end of the season if you did good or not. You should be following month to month that way you can change things if numbers don't add up.

You sound like an entrepreneur for sure.

It is a good idea to know your numbers and see exactly what your P&L was that way you can tweak your business.

How did you attract your clients this past year?

Business cards in local businesses is good. esp. pizza shops/ restraunts.
also, yard signs seem to do great, but I loose most of the signs.

flyers seem to do really bad , like 900 to 2 return, but they are cheap.

Well, my lowest is $25 wkly and highest is $125 wkly. the avg. is prob around $60. that amount also included mulch jobs ( one that was $2k) that tot. prob around 5k. not sure on all my #s yet!

What did you charge? Did you make a profit? IS this your full time thing? Did you feel like you under bid jobs?

Have you calculated the % of profit from your gross? That might help give others something to shoot for. Like a 10% profit, 20% profit etc?

Also feeling like you underbid some, are you planning on doing anything different next year to change it?
