  • New guy here!

Hello my name is Buddy. I signed up a little while back and haven't been around to introduce myself. I'm trying to start my own lawn business in and around Orange County Florida. Any help or advice would be appreciated since I'm figuring all this out as I go pretty much

Currently Wondering what the best way to get customers would be. Right now I have no work and have been posting adds on Craigslist like a madman but so far it has only gotten me one lawn. All they wanted was a one time cut before they moved out of their house. I'm in the process of making a couple of flyers, one for sticking on doors and another to post wherever I can with a tear off phone number. I've heard of people not having to much luck with those either. In my area there are a crapload of people cutting grass. I'm finding it very hard to get jobs

It never hurts to start handing out flyers door to door. That will get the word out and give you a chance to meet new potential customers.

Getting work is a tricky question. By any chance is there like 50 other companies trying to get work too?

New businesses have been over saturating the areas. There is only so much to go around.

A good idea before starting a business is to set up a poll that ask if the service is needed and what ones are. You might find out theres crazy work for a pool boy or a dog walker.

I jsut bring that up because you could be doing everything right and will never get anywhere if thats the case.

On the other hand if your relying on craigslist you have other problems. Its free! Which means everyone uses it.
