        hello

Thank you all for inviting me, really I havn't started my lawn care buisness, I will be focusing on contracts this winter. I was originally in the property preservation but, in the industry there is very low overhead (A truck and maybe a trailer) so there are so many "mom and pop" contractors popping up that for a $300.00 job they'll do it for 20 or 30 bucks to get a pack of cigs and a case of beer and I cant compete with that. I am focusing on getting a snow plow for the winter months coming up, and look forward to the snow fall.
For the mowing season of 2010 I'm planning on buying two(2) 54" John Deere ztrs, I already have 2 straight shaft weed eaters and a leaf blower but, I am also thinking about a gas powered edger. Does anyone have any tips or pointer on this equipment? I look forward to everyones responses.

As far as equipment goes, why not scale up as you need it. You never know what you will need for sure until you start lining up customers and are able to check out their property. Is it fenced it? How wide is the fence? etc.

I am guessing this involved a lot of small home repairs? Couldn't you still promote that you offer these services? While you are at a home mowing the property, it would be nice to pick up any side jobs the customer may have around their house as well.

That sounds like it would be wise as I plan to focus on residential and small comercial (Gas stations, Resturants, etc)

At this time I'm not persuing any marketing, right now our focus is researching pricing, buisness tips, insurance, things like that. I figured it would be wise to get that in order first, then start marketing after the new year.

Maybe you could get some business cards made up to hand out to people you know to help line up some snow plow accounts for Winter.

I've already signed on as a sub-contractor for the 09-2010 snow season doing large accounts so I will be pretty tied up with those lots. But that is a good idea and my plan for the 2010-2011 season.

Is the file you are trying to attach a gif or a jpg file format?

For the animation to work, it has to be in gif format.
