  • Web development for Lawn Care & Landscaping

    Hi all,

I am in web development business and choose "Lawn Care & Landscaping" as my niche and would like to know your opinion whether it is something worth doing.

So I started recently but unfortunately it is not going very well. I contacted all local businesses, got leads (was not just cold calling everybody but researched each business, created mockups and provided suggestions how to improve either website or SEO - everytime provided some value first) but all turned out to be unsuccessful. So now I am guessing whether it is something worth doing at all or maybe choose some other niche. My prices - $199-499 setup (different packages) and from $39.99 a month after (hosting, maintenance and 1hr of support).

Am I asking too much? What do you guys think or do you have any advice for me?

With free and really cheap WYSIWYG / drag & drop sites popping up everywhere, no one really pays for website developemnt anymore, especially small lawn companies.

We had our friend build our site. I think this will be a tough niche considering the seasonality. I would suggest looking at bigger companies that have larger marketing budgets. Maybe target companies that are already paying for marketing services and are in need of a redesign.
