  • Interbase Server question

When I reboot my PC my firewall software (CA EZFirewall, which is really ZoneAlarm) pops up and asks "Do you want to allow Interbase Sever to act as a server?"

I always click on "no". Am I causing any problems by doing that? I haven't noticed any problems so far but I'm still on the trial version and haven't used much of the fuctionality yet.

Also after I downloaded Gopher 2004 my firewall software pops up asking if it's ok for Gopher to access the internet. Again, I click on "no". Why is it trying to get to the internet?

    Thanks!

    Hi justgeorge,

It's not trying to connect to the internet. Gopher communicates with the database through tcp/ip and that may be setting off your Zone Alarm.
