    Me: We're here, do you have a check for us?

    Client: How much do I owe you, $50?

    Me: $97.47.

    Client: But how come the guy around the block only paid $51.75?

    Me: It's a different property.

    Client: Well I would have known the price if you would have called!

    Me: I sent you an invoice earlier with the amount.

    Client: Oh alright, ... so $75 will be fine.

    Me: ... $97.47.

    *while working*

    Client: You should answer your phone when I call, it's not proper to treat your customers this way!

    Me: You still owe us money for last year. Your son too. You told me you would be paying for him, but that never happened. If you had paid, we wouldn't be having this issue. If you pay now, we can clear this up and get back on good terms.

    Client: My son is very successful, he has a brand new (some fancy car) that he has paid off right away! He has lots of money!

    Me: That's great to hear, still, neither of you had paid for our services....

      Scott, how does all that work? Do you give the customer a price before you get started or what goes on?
