I found this article where this one organization hosts a festival of trees.

The non-profit group gets 21 trees donated to them and different businesses decorate them. Each tree is decorated by a different business.

The local community is invited to come and see the trees and make a night of it. Admission is one can of food for the food pantry. The companies that decorate the trees get to promote their businesses too so everyone benefits from it.

Then they auction off the trees to raise money.

Some of these companies even create holiday diorama scenes around their tree as well.

What a great idea! You could put this together in your area.

Hours: Tuesday, Dec. 1, to Friday, Dec. 4. Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday, with a social beginning at 6 p.m. and tree auction at 7 p.m.;
and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

You could pull something like this together at your local VFW or Fire House? Or anywhere with a large hall that is available for a few days.
