Do you find laid-off construction workers make for good employees or no?

Also do you find you turn down work because you don't have the staff to do the job?

Help not always wanted - On the surface, laid-off construction workers would seem like a welcome addition to the labor pool since landscapers constantly complain about the lack of reliable help for outdoor work.

"I pass up a lot of business because I don't have the workers," said John Davis, owner of Done to Perfection Lawn Care.

But landscapers have mixed feelings about turning to former construction workers even as work picks up with the spring bloom.

"We don't like to hire roofers who do landscaping," Larkins said. "As soon as the industry turns around, they'll be gone."
