  • Time-blocking?

    How often do we all get caught up in everything else but what we want to work on.

    You're the owner? Think big - One solution Meara suggests is "time-blocking," setting aside a certain amount of time to work on a project. In other words, stop answering the phone, stop looking at e-mail, stop letting people interrupt.

    "It's a change of behavior, and change is really hard," said Meara. "It takes 30 days to institute a new behavior, and it takes 90 days to eliminate an old behavior"

    It's easier said than done.

    Ross said he's seen people go to workshops and seminars and come home with binders that just sit on a shelf.

    "You have to schedule time to create your personal vision," he said. "If you don't do that, the rest won't happen"
