I am currently reading a book on Hunter S. Thompson.

A little about him from wikipedia

Hunter Stockton Thompson (July 18, 1937 – February 20, 2005) was an American journalist and author, most famous for his novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He is credited as the creator of Gonzo journalism, a style of reporting where reporters involve themselves in the action to such a degree that they become central figures of their stories.

What an amazing trip he had through life. The books is just well Gonzo. To get a feel for his life here are a bunch of videos that documented him. I am utterly amazed at all the craziness yet inspired by him as well.
