If you don't know who J.J. Abrams is, he is a writer, director and producer of such hits like TV's Lost, and films like Cloverfield and the new Star Trek.

In this discussion, J.J. traces his love for the unseen mystery - a passion that’s evident in his films and TV shows, including Cloverfield, Lost and Alias - back to its magical beginnings.

It's quite fascinating to hear his views on things and why he feels most movie sequels fail. Because, he says, they focus on the action or effects and not on the most important part, the human interactions and drama.

For some reason I can't get the video embed code at the moment but here is the video site http://www.ted.com/talks/j_j_abrams_mystery_box.html

And here is the speakers bio page.
