Do you or have you used AOL to gain access to the internet? At one point they seemed to be THE company to get internet access from. With their proprietary content, many people just loved them.

Now after reading this article I wonder, is AOL on it's way out?

Triple-Play Packages Drive Growth; AOL Loses Subscribers (http://adage.com/mediaworks/article?article_id=108982) - Revenues from AOL declined 7% from a year ago to $2 billion. It lost 835,000 subscribers in the first quarter (AOL has 18.6 million U.S. members).

That is a huge number of customers to lose in the first quarter. If the rate keeps up, it will be a loss of 3.34 million customers this year! WOW!

What do you see as the future of AOL? If you were running the company, what would you do differently?

Remember how they used to market the company? By sending you free cds all the time. They were everywhere. We all could learn something from their marketing people. http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
