Wouldn't this be the coolest project to work on? Building a mini excavator?

Do you think this would be a helpful tool?

In short no, these little tractors are not designed for the stress a front end loader would put on the axle nor is the frame designed for a backhoe, they would not last very long unless you were working in very light stuff, maybe mulch but even top soil would kill this unit in a day.

that is in fact one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. The hydraulics would tear it apart.

The other thing is that unit is an accident looking for a place to happen, that bucket would hold probably 1/4 to 1/3 yard of product, there are no wheel spacers for stability and having a bucket that high, even empty is nuts.
Having run tractors of all types most of my life, when I see folks doing this I have to shake my head, I have seen and read of so many people getting hurt/killed doing things a tractor was not designed to do or not following the safety notes, even on the tractors that I run which are designed for these attachments you can get hurt in a heartbeat.
