As you can tell from my screen name I like to hunt, and one of my Fav is Turkey, Deer and now waterfowl. Here are some pix of the Lab pup I got for Christmas and my Birthday from my kids in 06' he was only 8 weeks old at the time. I have been training him myself all summer and it has been a slow winter for waterfowling so I haven't had the chance to get him out there for the big test, but as the new year comes in I will.

HE IS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD IN THIS PITURE.

Nice lookin' pup, Tim!

I'm not into hunting, but I LOVE camping and fishing! I love to take my boys camping at the lake. We have a TON of equipment... a lot of it we made ourselves so it fits our needs specifically. = )

In the spring and summer when we go camping again, I'll make sure to take some pics!

Thanks I got to pick him and my 2 daughters, and youngest stepson paid for him. I had been wanting a Black for a while just never really did it so He was Birthday and Christmas gift. He is My best freind bar none.

Cool I'm into primitive camping and hunting, my kids love it but the step kids arnt into it at all. They're grown now so I only have the one youngest daughter and a step son that hunts with me, mostly and family the oldest son he hunts some but not like he did, guess he is at that age got the lady's on the brain! LOL. The wife refuses to go camping unless she stays at a Comfort Suites somewhere.LOL.

I would like to hear about the camping trips sounds cool that you make what you need.

We go to the SMOKIES in the late spring for the trout fishing and have a blast. The bears don't bother me nearly as much as the snakes do. LOL.

Keep me posted on your trips. I like hearing about stuff like this.

I had to laugh when you said "The wife refuses to go camping unless she stays at a Comfort Suites somewhere."

My wife always told me her idea of roughing it was having a black and white TV. LOL!

It is only seasonal April - June and Oct-Dec . It is all about Realhuntin and Realfishin Someone tried to steal the names and run it on the Sportsman Channel I stop them cold in their tracks. It basicly covers true hunting adventure how to get to the point of being the hunter in the stand and shooting the Big Buck or calling in that Big Tom catching those Trout.

Give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach him to fish he eats every day.

Give me about ten minutes and I'll put the site back up so you can see the hunts and video and info from the sight. It will take a few to restart it.

Hi Tim,

Trying it again.

Are you in the videos?

What got you started doing that and what has been your reflection on the show?

This is fascinating!

Hi Tim. I hunt and fish also. Mostly deer, turkeys, and pigs. I dont hunt waterfowl, I guess I just never gave it a try. I fish for all types though, I live in the most fishable part of the California. Lakes all around, several rivers, and only a couple hours from the ocean too.

Tim,

This really sounds interesting! Good for you for putting this together! Have you ever thought about getting some of your videos up on youtube? Would that work?

I think I'm going to run them on Yahoo video so I can embed them on the site and then I don't have to worry about stream lining them and keeping it all with yahoo may be easier for me.

I think I'm going to do a 13 week series and then rerun it through the summer after the turkey season videos run out. I have enough for for total of 26 weeks @ 28 min and 30 seconds per show if I run the commercials, if I cut the commercials then only about 20 min shows for the 26 weeks.

Basicly I started or tried to start what is now called WEBVISION or Webisodes LOL about 8 or 9 years ago but at that time it wasn't real popular, and the sponsors only wanted us to run the show on TNN, Outdoor Channel, The Sportsman Channel, The Mens Channel or ESPN on Saturday Mornings, the problem is you can't run a 00:28;30 show on product, it takes alot of money to air a show about 5k per show to start, that only covers cost, not getting anything for your time, I had Prime time on Thursday and Sunday on The Sportsman Channel for 52 weeks in 2001 but was unable to collect from sponsors, seems they come calling when they want you to use their products but when money becomes a issue the tuck tail and run the other way, Getting on the BIG BOY SPONSOR budget was a trick in itself, you have to compete with longtimers like Realtree, Mossy Oak, Primos most of the shows you see on these channels are self funded, self funding is a whole nother story. I think its funny how things change so much in just a few short years with the popularity of Webvision/Webisodes.

As I look back even my Bow Sponsor is now paying residuals to the Pro Shooters and they said they would never do this. The deal is you WIN you get paid by them on top of your winnings check. I should call them and ask for BACK PAY!.

I droped a tewelve year sponsor to shoot for the one I have now back in 1999, the company was newer I think maybe 1st year when I came aboard with them, to shoot their equipment.
Free equipment dosn't pay the bills for going to these shoots. I made most of it up in other sponsors and kept quiet about the deal I had with the Bow Company. I guess time has finally caught up to me.

This is awesome! I am so impressed!

When can I see one of your episodes?

My view is you have got to get your website up for these videos and have it up all year round.

You need to keep the buzz going about the site!

Do you for see this becoming bigger in the future? What would you like to do with it? Where would you like it to go?

Hey Steve

No I dont see it doing much.

I felt the site needed to support itself, thats why I didn't continue it.

No I don't see it becoming bigger as far as my end of it, but Webisodes are going to keep getting bigger and bigger. People fine that good webisodes are more entertaining than normal TV and its like TiVo you can watch what you want when you want. From my end of it I think I'll just keep it fun and a hobby, I did find out that Yahoo now supports high end video broadcast feeds. Before there wasn't room for my video, with the ever changing technologies its getting easier for just anyone to produce a 20sec to 2or3 min video, equipment needed is mininumal and video has a better compresson ratio now than say 5-7 years ago where it took 300gig just to do one 00:28;30 show so at that I had 3 -4 extrnial hard drives just to load video on so I could edit it and to do one show it could take me 2 or 3 days to get it ready.

So I think I'll just keep it as a hobby and maybe do weeky show as I have video, and if someone has a hunt they want to put on the show then they send me copies of the hunt I could add it to the weekly airing of it.

As you know 7-10 years ago many people didn't have High Speed Internet so watching good to high quality video was hard because it took to long to load on dialup if you could even load it all before you where booted.

I will take some time and see if I can't get someting new edited and post it on the site to watch.

Tim,

This is all just fascinating.

If you were to reflect on the hunting videos and the lawn care business, which do you feel you had more of a passion for?

Do you think it just comes down to it is easier to make money at running a lawn care business than it is to make money at creating hunting videos?

Is it very competitive to try and produce such videos?

I have to say my passion is always going to be Hunting, but not as a business, as far as passion for business I wish I would have started this lawn care before and not the security industry, don't take me wrong I made a very good living at it and lived well. I truly enjoy doing this job so it helps with the stress levels.

I had gotten a bow hunting license many years ago. I had a lot of friends that were into hunting but I just never got into going myself. I do think I might enjoy getting out in the woods and hunting but I find that it is a lot easier to go fishing so that is what I do more so.

I had a friend who ran a hunting store and that was fascinating to hear all the stories about running it. It was a classic case of he started selling bows out of his shed in his backyard and then scaled up to a store. Later he manufactured his own bows. So fascinating!

The thing I do wonder all the time is, can you enjoy something, make a business out of it and still enjoy it. I think some people are able to pull this off.

If you ever wanted to push that hunting division more, I would love to see it grow.

Did you ever think of getting involved with the retail end of hunting?

Or are there others in your area or in this field that you admire and would like to see your business like theres?
