In a recent press release Clive sent out he has positioned his lawn care business as one of the few I have seen recently that is going for the environmentally conscious consumer.

Check out what he is doing. You get your price quote online so there is no driving around to give out bids. Then he is using fuel efficient cars (not trucks) for his business. On top of all that, he is using push mowers and rechargeable trimmers!

What do you think of this? Will it take off? Does it give you ideas for your business?

in+Ontario/3349139.html" target="_blank">Blue Sky Lawn Environmental Inc.</a> - Environment Canada has recently warned that "...small gasoline engines that power equipment such as lawnmowers ... emit relatively high amounts of pollutants that can adversely affect air quality". For years these machines have been the standard tool for lawn maintenance. Blue Sky Lawn Environmental Inc. will introduce 'Zero Emission Lawn Maintenance' this spring, using only push mowers and rechargeable trimmers. According to Blue Sky Lawn President Clive Cohen, "Well designed push mowers and fuel efficient cars will give us the chance to take harmful gas mowers, and the trucks that carry them, out of our neighborhoods for good".

Unlike conventional lawn services, Blue Sky Lawn has deployed an online pricing and registration system for customers. "Customers fill in the size of their property on our registration page and instantly see what price they will be paying for monthly service," says Clive Cohen, "we have eliminated the need to drive to every house and drop off paper quotes, not only does this reduces waste from paper, but also reduces the emissions associated with driving".

Blue Sky Lawn Environmental Inc (www.blueskylawn.com (http://www.blueskylawn.com)) is a Toronto based company specializing in 'Zero Emission Lawn Maintenance'. Service is delivered with compact fuel efficient cars, push mowers and rechargeable trimmers.

They have also done an amazing job with their website!

This might work for the non lazy home owner but not many....most would rather fire up a self propelled mower. I think this wouldnt work at all for the LCO can you imagine how long it would take to mow an acre?!

That is very true. I am sure they would steer away from larger properties, but with smaller properties, they just might have hit on something that could work.
