I thought this was a good idea. I am not exactly sure what a franchise fee discount is though and how it works. But it does seem to target a group of people who are hard working and looking for business opportunities

Are you a veteran or have you hired veterans? Have you found veterans are more responsible and harder working than the general public? What's been your experience?

Domino's offers franchise opportunities to veterans (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071108/BUSINESS06/71108027/1005/NEWS03) - Domino’s Pizza has unveiled a new U.S. Veterans Franchise Program that allows qualified military vets interested in business ownership to receive a competitive $20,000 franchise fee discount, operational savings, rebates and comprehensive training.

The Ann Arbor pizza chain said the program was developed to honor the service of men and women throughout the military.

The program applies to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans, as well as the spouses of active military members who want to be business owners.

“Domino’s has a historic connection with the military,” said David Brandon, chairman and CEO of Domino’s Pizza. “Our first successful pizzerias were on military bases and college campuses. Domino’s U.S. Veterans Franchise Program is the next step in our successful and evolving relationship with the military.”

The program is similar to the Little Caesars Veterans Program launched by company owner Mike Illitch last November, which provides a benefit of up to $68,000 for honorably discharged, service-disabled veterans who qualify. Qualified honorably discharged, non-service disabled veterans are eligible for a benefit of $10,000.
