If you haven't thought about it yet, Valentine's Day is coming up.
I know the traditional gifts are Roses and Chocolates for girlfriends and wives.
Lots of guys also buy presents for their Moms. *Instead of buying *$100 worth of flowers that will die within a week, tell your customers to pay you $100 for a flower bed "VALENTINE'S DAY - SPRUCE UP SPECIAL"
For $100 you can drop by the Mom's (certain girlfriends and wives love this too) house, blow leaves out of her flower beds, trim shrubs, pull weeds, and add a bag or two of fresh mulch.
As an added touch, hand her a Valentine's Day card saying the service is compliments of her son....and don't forget your business card.
This is a great service to offer around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
If anyone takes advantage of this idea, let me know how it works for you.
Steve, any chance for a flyer design for this advertising idea?
Keith

Hi Keith,
That is a great idea! Should this include any type of flowers at all? Either in pots or planted? Or is it too early for that?
I did make a flyer a while back about Valentine's day. Maybe it could be altered?

Do you have a graphic program? You should be able to download it and alter it.
What are you gonna change? I can't wait to see what you do!

It is amazing on the marketing tactics in the States...here in Canada you don't see anything like that. ie, Valentines Day, free pizza with contract, tax return, etc...

Any ideas?

Hi Rob:
Lots of guys buy their Valentine's day flowers from Grocery stores. I know lots of stores in my area have bulletin boards where they allow customers to pin flyers and business cards. I wonder how many people's attention you can attract.
If you put tear off tags with your company name, a red heart, and your phone number customers can rip them off and call you when they get home.
Do you think that will work?

I forgot about the bulletin boards at the grocery stores.
Good idea! I'll put some up today.
Thanks Keith

What about Valentine's day lawn care gift certificate cards that someone can purchase through your site and then you will mail it in a Valentine's day card along with a special message to the person the card is being bought for?
Maybe $50, $75 or $100 increments?

I just did roll over 400 friends and still growing
i have put some of my work on my myspace page so people can see. Try that as a selling point also, with bulletins and comments along the way

Matt,
You are welcome!
When you think of 'catchy' marketing. Can you tell us a little about what you mean?

A tag line is a catchy one or two line phrase associated with a product, campaign or business. a positioning statement and/or unique selling proposition

You know what else I was thinking that could be a really neat way to market your business for valentines day. Could you buy a bunch of cheap valentines day cards and red envelopes and then inside the card you could say. Why not give your sweetie something she would really appreciate this year. A clean yard and freshly planted flowers. Then have your contact information in it.
What do you think of something like that?
