Get Noticed Program

Big thanks to Richard murphy of http://designinq.com/. He has created this program to help new Lawn Care Operators.

He will customize a new website for you based on one of our many free web templates located here (http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=898). All he asks is that you purchase your domain name and get web hosting. He suggested godaddy.com (http://www.godaddy.com), due to their low price, but you can go anywhere you want.

If you want a website. Simply post a response here and Richard will get back to you. Right now this is open ended. He will create them one by one going through the list.

If you are in a rush I am sure you could offer to pay him to get it done faster.

Thanks Again Richard!!!!

Here is his most recent website for www.bayoulawncare.com (http://www.bayoulawncare.com)

Check it out!

Richard does excellent work!

He can also get your site working with Lawnmail (http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=SF;f=15), so your customers can log it to check their balances, invoice and payment history and upcoming job schedule.

Also he can get your site working with paypal (http://www.paypal.com).

I am partial to #3.

I have a domain name registered already, but I only have the email package (through Yahoo). I'll have to upgrade and/or switch to another hosting service.

If anybody has any questions please let me know right away. I will be starting these sites starting Monday July 4th, 2005.

Things that will help me out alot would be

1. Make sure you have a registered domain name
2. Make sure you have a hosting plan - Basic Linux Plan
3. Deside on what Gopher template you wish to use

Thanks,

Steve

If there is anyone that I have not been in touch with please let me know. I should have sent everyone an introductory email asking a few questions. There is no order in how I am doing these sites...whoever is ready first is where I will start. If you need help setting up your domain and hosting I can help. Just give me an email.

rmurphy@designinq.com

Also, this program is designed for LCO's who do not have a website, or for people that want to update their older site using one of Gopher's templates located here. (http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=898)

http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/uploads/post-15-23819-free_webtemplates.gif

If you already have 1 or 2 sites running in my opinion you do not need my assistance.

Alright, who is ready?

Do you have any Hosting co. that you like??
I have everything but a hosting co.
thanks-

Hey there TLM,

godaddy.com (http://godaddy.com) is the cheapest hosting company I have seen around. I have set up many accounts for LCO's using their service. Follow this link

Hosting Options (https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/shared.asp?se=%2B&ci=260)

You can select the $3.95 per month plan, the space and traffic allowances are good enough for what we need it for. But, whatever plan you select make sure that you select the Linux option...not windows. If you already have a domain name you will need to link that domain name to your hosting account. It is very easy to set up...however if you get stuck, make sure to let me know.

TLM

I'll take care of that today....

I am ready to start another project if anyone is ready...just post if you have a domain name and hosting.

If you are stuck and don't know what to do, post your questions.

If so , how much would you charge to do this??

ritchiem

Hi there TLM,

Yes I did receive your email. And I can edit that template no problem. However, I do have a couple of concerns that I would like to address.

1. Website search engines mostly run on content based in the site. Flash sites do not catoluge content. Therefore your ranking in searches will not be good at all.

2. When it comes time to add photos edit text, you would need someone that is experienced with flash to do this. (Unless you have some experience with flash)

All in all it is a good looking site. I'll send you an email with some further info.

Can you tell me how I can get a free web site and what I will need to have to be able to use it .(costs?)

ritchiem

Hey there Miller,

Here are the templates that are available to use

FREE Web Templates (http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=898)

Also if you wish to be part of the "Get Noticed" program and have your site designed for you, you will need to get a registered domain name and a hosting company. You can find all of that at godaddy.com (http://godaddy.com)...I do recommend there services, however you can go wherever you like.

If you have any more questions please ask here.

do you suggest I use godaddy for that?? If I were to register my domain and hosting account would you design a website??

ritchiem
08-09-2005, 10:22 PM
godaddy.com (http://godaddy.com) is a good hosting company for cheap hosting. I have setup many accounts with them, and have yet to run into a problem.

And yes Design In Q will design a website for your company as long as you choose one of the Free Gopher Web Templaes located here (http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=898), as part of the "Get Noticed" program.

ritchiem

econo is fine...also make sure to choose the Linux server...not the windows server.
