New Poster and new to Lawncare

Just like to introduce myself, I am new to Lawncare and to this forum but I am currently in the process of purchasing a lawncare business having spent the last 30 years in computers, boy am I looking forward to it.

What made you want to get into the lawn care industry?

Also what are your thoughts on buying a lawn care operation that is up and running vs starting one from scratch?

Hi,
After 30 years wearing a suit and tie and working in an office I am really looking forward to working outdoors in the fresh air. I think with my background I can bring a fresh business perspective to the business. I chose an existing business because a)I dont want to spend 12 months building the business from scratch b)I need some one to teach me and c)It probably wont cost me much more and I already have a 200K income stream I can build.

How did you go about coming to a price for this lawn care operation? How did you value it? It seems a lot of new business owners have problems with valuation of existing businesses.

Have you found your previous business experience to be helpful thus far?
