If are in the lawn chemical application business, have you ever considered offering extermination services as well?

What are the advantages / disadvantages to it?

Sunair Services Corp. has bought Archer Exterminators (http://washington.bizjournals.com/southflorida/stories/2006/12/11/daily19.html) - a pest control services company serving Central Florida.

The Fort Lauderdale-based lawn care and pest control services said Archer will be integrated into Middleton Pest Control, which Sunair (AMEX: SNR) bought in June 2005.

Since that buy kicked off its entry into the pest control market, Sunair has made six more acquisitions.

During that time, Sunair has been shifting its operations to pest control from a high-frequency radio. Last month, it completed the transition by selling the property formerly occupied by its Sunair Communications subsidiary. Sunair had sold the subsidiary for $5 million two months before.

In buying Orlando-based Archer, Sunair has purchased a 25-year-old company that services both residences and commercial properties.

Archer services include lawn, shrub and household pest control as well as drywood termite and subterranean termite control services.
