Been lurking long enough

Well i've been lurking on the site for the past few months and decided it's time to sign up.

I just recently downloaded the trial version of gopher to review.

I had tried using one of the free logos awhile back but never really totally satisifed myself with the results. I'll post what i have and see what ideas everyone might have.

My other idea with this logo to tie in my Gutter Cleaning part of the business was to have some color... falling leaves off one side, making the trunk brown (not sure if you could do green part of the tree on one side and fall type tree on the other and make it look right) i know i sure dont have that skill.
(I will also be removing the Cell #)

Any help or ideas with this logo would be appricated. If there's another logo you think would fit my business better, I'm all ears...

Hi Nathan,

Glad to have you join us. You know, I think the logo will work just fine for you. It ties in well with the lawn care part in your logo.
I personally prefer simple logo designs. Others may not mind a visually intense and complex logo. But I think the simpler the better.

What are some of your marketing plans for the spring?

Well let me start by saying I'm currently a stay at home dad of 2 beautiful little girls and worked my Gutter Cleaning business part time the last 2 yrs.

I am looking to add lawn care this season to keep me busy part of the year (part time for now)

As for marketing i already have a customer base of gutter cleaning clients that may be interested in service or switching service. (some of which have asked if i do lawn care)

I have used newspaper with the best results here, tried flyers with slim results, word of mouth comes in second for gaining new clients. Am thinking about having the truck lettered. I have used the magnetic signs in the past, none of which got many calls (i just recently moved from the country to town so i now have more opportunity to be seen)

If i could get enough gutter cleaning going i wouldnt bother with lawns but it's slow here, getting my name out is #1 and making enough in the off season with lawns is #2, once gutter cleaning takes off i'd just my keep my reg. clients for lawn service and focus on gutters.

But my girls come first right now, my youngest just turned 1 in dec and my oldest will be 4 in may, once she starts headstart/preschool, we will more then likely look into day care for my youngest, so until then Dad stays home.

Here's the logo with the Cell # off and i changed the font a little... Just seems so basic i guess, not sure if i am happy with it yet.
