What's your review of their services? Would you recommend them?

shouldn't have to pay more then 3.99 per month for hosting (including domain and sitebuilder). 1and1.com I have found to be the best.

James,
What site do you have hosted with them? Did you have a proffesional put it together or did you use their site builder?
Just curious, I'd like to see the finished product.

ya when you get down to it, it is just a matter of a few bucks at the end of the year. I would definitely pay for service when it comes to hosting...so many companies out there just trying to get your dollar and thats that...glad you found someone that can provide good service.

LOL...na, not in the mood http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Plus no room for arguing on gopher forums http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
It is crazy the amount of companies making hosting available these days. Plus you don't even know if it is a companies servers that you are on...most hosting companies rent servers from bigger hosting companies and then sell the space for more.
That is why I like 1and1.com...straight from the source sort-a speak.

Alright, alright.... Jamie. I know your voicemail on your cell says Jamie but I saw the "James" on here & figured that must be your prefered online persona. lol http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

well 1and1.com are one of the largest in the world...not to argue but you'll find good and bad comments from any hosting company...even 1and1.com. I have had good experiences with them, but at the same time you need to know a bit about how to manage a website. All too many people think that 'poof' my website will appear. Once you get over the learning curve its all good...no matter who you choose...though I could make a good list of hosting companies I would stay far far away from.

What is the difference between linux & ms web hosting?
ritchiem
03-27-2008, 10:38 PM
MS = ASP functions...though you can still run some scripts
Linux/Unix = PHP/CGI scripts...easier to run programs...open source
