What website are you trying to host ? What are you trying to do with it ? update it ? go online ?

I wouldn't recommend it.
First off most ISP's will not let you run a inbound server (outside connecting in)...due to many reasons. So I would first check with your ISP.
Second...I don't see how you would save any money. You'll have to get a second computer (you wouldn't want to host it on your main for security reasons). But if you have an old pc or if someone will donate you one, great!
Steps you need to take are,
Get a DNS hostname for your home Internet connection.
Create a static IP addy.
Then you need a router configured to port 80 or whatever port will allow HTML requests.
Setup your windows firewall.
Install Apache...its free so no worries there. It'll be the server software you'll need to host your site.
Once you have it all installed and configured...testing testing testing.
and headache headache headache...
Good luck!!! http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

im still trying to work on my site having problems.....when I edit a page in word then add a picture and save it will save the "testimonials" page and then testimonial files....but I try to upload the file so you can see the pics I have to overwrite pics from another page. I tried to rename the pic and the name in the filelist with no luck. How would I change the name of it in word so that it saves with all the coding?http://greenviewsuperior913.angelfire.com/testimonials.html
That is the page im working on its a gif with hyperlink to leave feedback

You know this is a very good topic, I do wonder if it wouldn't be better to just use a myspace site as your main site for your lawn care business.
What's your take on that?

I don't see any image link problems at the moment with your site. Can you describe to me a little more where you are getting stuck, because I don't know where you are getting stuck.

I would but you have to set everything to private or get spammed all day and that makes it difficult for a customer to get in touch....but yeah I just fixed the page I just needed to add a sub folder instead of everything in one
