Will Ferrell stars in Semi-Pro, an outrageous comedy set in 1976 against the backdrop of the maverick ABA ** a fast-paced, wild and crazy basketball league that rivaled the NBA and made a name for itself with innovations like the three-point shot and slam dunk contest. Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, a one-hit wonder who used the profits from the success of his chart-topping song "Love Me Sexy" to achieve his dream of owning a basketball team. But Moon's franchise, the Flint Michigan Tropics, is the worst team in the league and in danger of folding when the ABA announces its plans to merge with the NBA. If they want to survive, Jackie and the Tropics must now do the seemingly impossible ** win.

Are you a Will Ferrell fan? What's your take will this movie make any money? I think the premise is hilarious and I think it will make money.

I do like Will, however some roles are just to much for my liking. I think Will shined in 'Stranger then Fiction' and my favorite movie with him has to be 'Old School'. He really likes the novelty movies...would be nice to see him in better roles. That being said...this movie looks like a rental.

I think Will did a great job on Saturday Night Live but a lot of his movies are really hard to watch.

I didn't see Blades of Glory yet though. Have you? How was that one?

The premise seemed hilarious.

Yes I have seen it...it had it funny moments. Worth the rental if you enjoy his movies. I am also a big Jon Heder fan (Napoleon Dynamite, The Benchwarmers) and he made the movie more watchable for me.

Oh Jon is great. Napolean Dynamite just was so funny and quirky. How do they come up with these films!
