Hi Richard,

I think that is fantastic! Good for you!

Can you tell me your thoughts on why you started your blog and what you feel is the purpose of a blog?

And when are you going to put your blog link in your signature http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

there we go blog logo in need to make it smaller...

I started the blog to share what I knew about the green industry. My hopes were to have influential people from the industry comment and become authors for the blog as well.

I would love one day to have actual sponsors. I will keep writing to the blog every chance I get. The fact that I am now #1 (for now...took 3 years) has lit a fire for me to do more with it.

Would you like to one day author a book? Publish a magazine? Do your own video on lawn care?

Well if you think about it, you already achieved that! You have sponsors through google, but that still is the same as having sponsors so congratulations to you!

Do you think it would be possible to ear enough through a blog to have that as a main source of income?

Rodman,

Did you ever start a blog or run one? What do you think of them? Would you like that?

a blog is worthless unless you have good content, and people coming to look at that content. So you have to figure what content you have too offer that is appealing to the consumer. so it will attract them back to your blog.

Does anyone here visit a blog regularly? If so, how often do they update the blog. I have always wondered what the ideal is for something like that.

East way to keep a blog updates is to employ friends and othe rpeople to add content to your blog. That will keep people coming back daily to your blog.

Very easy to set up...a little more difficult to edit, but loads of fun.

Now that would be awesome. In fact a couple of years ago I started a video 'diary' (for lack of a better word), but I never finished it. I was really thinking about doing that for the new season.

Oh that sounds interesting! Can you tell us a little more about that? What subjects did it or will it cover?

Well what I was doing was plotting sections of lawn areas using different fertilizers (organic and chemical) and showing the effects of each.

Other different areas I would like to cover is;

- proper mulch installation
- pruning techniques
- hedge pruning
- tree and shrub care

to name a few. I really think this is something I am going to go ahead with starting this spring. Even if nothing comes of it I think it will be fun. I got a new HD camcorder so I am all set.

You did a great job with the site. All the colors work very well together.
