At what point do you think we will hit a tipping point in this country? How high can gas prices go before we see a big change in energy? Maybe more hybrid usage or the like

$2.87 to $3.05 in southern Maine.
I'm thinking that gas will have to quickly hit $3.50 and more before the driving public makes changes.
I stopped in at my Ford dealer to research chassis for a new dump truck and I see that sales are still lagging just about across the board for all models. Car and truck payments in conjunction with fuel expenditures is costly right now.
Trade-ins on the lot are mostly medium size to larger vehicles.
Those of us in this business will not see suitable hybrids for our targeted usage, i.e. towing, hauling, and so on, for at least 10 years or more. They just don't have the power.
