Probably $55 just to mow. If you want the edges touched up also.. another $20. If you want him to blow..$20 more. You also want the shrubs touched up? Thats another $25.
You total for the monthly service is only $120. http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Was this a legitimate company? Could you tell? Did they seem to have insurance? Or was this a fly by night operation?

What I mean by "key" word is the $55 any lawn price just tempts people to call, then they find out that it is only for the lawn. It cost more if they want other things done. I would imagine he doesnt do more than 1 or 2 $55 lawns. He makes his money by upselling for the edging, blowing, etc.
I would even bet that if someone came to him with a huge lawn and wanted the $55 service, he would probably tell them he is booked, so he doesnt have to do it.

Yup, I wouldn't doubt it. He could say something like that. He could say that he is booked for he wouldn't have to take on the customer

Why don't you call him and have him swing by a friends house (preferably with a large lawn) and see what comes of it?
Or just call and ask what is included and how many cuts per month etc.

Good idea, I am curious what he would say.
