We have been posting our business book of the month choices for over a year now. Our goal is to share with you books we have read to inspire you and help promote growth. Once in a while we are asked to post an industry specific book, so that's what we are going to do this time.
Gopher-preneur book of the month, May '05, Start & Run A Landscape Business, by Joel LaRusic.
Joel, the Auther of this book, started his landscape business over 15 years ago and learned quite a few things along the way. At first he worked by himself, building his business up to having 10 employees.
The book starts off right from the beginning with a self-assessment skills worksheet. It then moves on to help you create what Joel calls an action plan. This really helps you get started on the right foot. Following chapters include, Making your business legal, Money Matters, Choosing the right equipment all the way to more advanced topics like The art of fertilizing. The back of the book includes a CD with all the forms you will need to get going. Marketing flyers, contracts and other business forms are included. What more could you ask for? Reading this book is like having a father who has been in the business for years and wants to hand it over to you. He is going to show you the right path to take to be successful in your landscape business along with tips and tricks he has picked up along the way.
Thanks Joel for taking the time to put such a book together for us.
