Local volunteer website

I was just thinking. Do you think it would be worth it to create a local community website whose function was to post different volunteer projects that are going on in the area to help recruit volunteers for projects?

Like say for instance www.volunteerYOURTOWN.com

Then you could run it and help try to get people to get involved with your community?

Or maybe you could create a myspace page for it?

You could come up with different projects to work on in your town and you could put the word out that you offer this website. Maybe you could get other businesses involved.

It could be a great way to position yourself and your business as the go to person within your community who can get things done and it certainly would help you get the word out about your business as well.

What are your thoughts on this?

Steve I think that would be GREAT IDEAL, Would be great way to give back to your town where you live. Wish I did not have so much to do right now. I will look into building a site next year for this see how it turns out.
