Here is another creative way a couple of lawn care operators took their time and leveraged it to promote their business.

Volunteers help plant town red (http://www.uniondemocrat.com/news/story.cfm?story_no=23278) - Bunches of bright red blooms appeared around trees and in boxes in downtown Angels Camp on Thursday thanks to the planting efforts of local nursery volunteers.

Frog Hollow and Livanos Landscaping responded to the Angels Camp Business Association's call for volunteers to color the town for spring, donating dozens of scarlet mini-petunias, red vinca and geraniums. The group had tried to plant the flowers for Easter, but the distributor couldn't guarantee them until now, said Peter Livanos, owner of Livanos Landscaping.

There is a city just east of me that plants thousands of annuals every year through donations and volunteer help along the roadway. I could be wrong, but the roadway stretches for about 5+ miles
