Congratulations to Keith. He not only won his elected position but he also got media coverage. I bet his business will be picking up more.

Johnson claims board runoff win (http://www.commercialappeal.com/mca/desoto/article/0,1426,MCA_451_5322325,00.html) - Keith Johnson won a runoff election Thursday to fill a vacant seat on the Walls Board of Aldermen.

Johnson and Roland Turner, both political novices, were vying for the seat after finishing in the two spots among a four-person field in a special election last week.

Johnson finished with 37 votes, according to unofficial returns, and Turner received 30.

"I'm excited to be a part of the town, and I want to work hard for the town and the board," Johnson said.

Turner said he was "excited to be in the election, and I'll probably run again."

The seat was vacated when Michael Lowe resigned in December after taking a casino job in Biloxi.

Johnson, 30, is a five-year resident and lawn care business owner. '
