How cool is this. This lco was able to give back to his community and also get the attention of Oprah.

Chackbay Landscape teams with Oprah and 'Angels' (http://www.landscapemanagement.net/landscape/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=392675) - Chackbay Nursery and Landscaping, Thibodaux, LA, partnered with Oprah Winfrey and director Tyler Perry to deliver 15 new homes and a park in Baton Rouge. The first phase was featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show that aired on December 6th. Perry donated $1 million toward the project that will bear his name. Perry Place will be completed by December 20th of this year.

Chackbay Nursery and Landscaping is installing the landscaping for 15 home sites in a community being built through a partnership with The Angel Network, Habitat International, and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge. The new neighborhood will have tree-lined streets, sidewalks, landscaping for each new home and a park with a giant decorated Christmas tree accessible to the neighborhood.

“The project proves that when a group of people and companies get together for a great cause it attracts a considerable amount of attention,” said Benton Foret of Chackbay Nursery and Landscaping. “You can’t help but feel a sense of pride when you see the finished product and smiling faces that your company helped deliver featured in the national spotlight.” Michael Richard added “Our team members of Chackbay Nursery and Landscaping deserve all of the credit for creating such a wonderful place for the residents to enjoy. They made it happen.”

Chackbay Nursery and Landscaping is a design build landscaping firm that serves all of South Louisiana and has performed projects of various size and scope throughout the state. The company has been in business for more than 25 years with Foret and Richard as the owners for the past 6 years.
