This year we want to help some LCO's get a head start with their business by setting them up with a logo and marketing material.

The first LCO we are helping is Zacc from Shamrock Lawn Care.

Hi everyone, my name is Zacc, and I am the owner / operator of shamrock lawn care. I would like to take this chance for a pre-emptive thank you to everyone, and the gopher team.

Let me tell you a little bit about the company and myself. I am 19 years old, I am a freshman at metro state college in denver, colorado.

Shamrock lawn care is a brand new company, and I hope to expand fairly fast. By the end of this season I hope to have over twenty yearly contracts.and hopefully double every year till I get about 100 contracts.

As for the logo I am open to your ideas, I would like a cartooney style shamrock and I would like freshly striped grass in the logo some how.

Thanx in advance everyone

Hey xray, I like it a lot, but I guess I should have specified, I wanted the shape cartooney, not a face and stuff, but I like everything else a lot. Can we try it without the face and hat, and can we outline it all with a border maybe?

Thanx a lot for the draft xray, I like the logo, but I should have specified, I didn't mean cartoon character when I said cartooney, I meant the shape to be not so traditional style cartooney. Maybe we can try the stripes inside the shamrock, and maybe we can try smaller lettering, but still legible when printed on business cards and envelopes

Hey everyone, sorry for the posting going on 4 times, Im not sure why it is doing that, but Ill make sure that it doesnt anymore. ritchiem I like the shamrock alot, I like the one with the white accents, instead of a sun in the back, can we try a striped lawn somehow, and can we have different lettering in the name, withthe "Shamrock" above the actual shamrock and "Lawn Care" Below it? Thanx alot Ritchiem and xray, they look awesome.

Ritchiem, I liked the shamrock in the first drafts better, and could we make the stripes look more like it is a lawn? And xray I like that better, can we try the shamrock with the stripes inside it maybe? So its more like a logo. Thanx a lot for everything guys

Hey Team Gopher, yes I will hit the ground running, thanx a lot guys I really appreciate it. Ritchiem maybe we should nix the stripes idea, I'm not sure how to incorporate grass, but if you do, I am open to anything, also can we make the "shamrock lawn care" part of the logo, like with a border connecting it all? And can we try all of this with black background, I want to see how it will look on my black truck, yhanx again for all of your hard work guys, this season is going to be awesome!

Hey Ritchiem, can we have different writing, that look a bit more professional, I think that it might look better if the "shamrock" was curved over the top, and the "Lawn Care" Was curved up from the bottom, also can we have the black lines inside the shamrock instead of the white, I think that would look better, And then can we have the border flow with the logo. We will see how that looks

ShamRockLawnCare
01-26-2005, 06:38 PM
Hey xray, that looks awesome, Can we try a different shamrock, and use that as the border, with the same writing, and the same style of grass inside of it somehow? That looks really incredible though, and can we try it with a black backdrop, so I can see how it would look on a black truck, Thanx alot xray, and keep up the good work guys, I really appreciate everything that you are all doing for me,

I will be using that specific ones to the neighboring houses of clients that I am mowing. I plan on doing both sides of the street at that particular house. The others I plan on going door to door with, Hopefully quite a few, maybe a few thousand. I am also thinking about using the spring training one in some of the community newspapers. I need to see about resizing and whatnot

A fellow LCO suggested that Shamrock Lawn Care visit his local library's reference center and look for one of the following books (http://www.newstrategist.com/catpage.cfm?cat_selected=77). Or visit the census website. This would help him create a market analysis to determine the feasibility of providing the services he wants based on zip code.

He could then find which zip codes include people within a specific age range, presence of children, home value, or buying preferences, Shamrock Lawn Care is trying to target. That information will allow him to maximize his advertising and marketing money.

I normally wouldnt ask, but I noticed
" we want to help some LCO's get a head start with their business by setting them up with a logo and marketing material. "
I was wondering if you would be interested in helping a single father and 4yr old son out. Been going for a little bit and with a few pitfalls, employee problems theft and such, no working capital and squeeking around the repo guy's..I have been looking for some info and or help. I was a Federally licensed captain as well as many other licensing documents under my belt. I was handed my son when I got home for my time off and wasnt able to get back to work..I exhausted my funds and a friends help with credit and away I went..The employee that hurt the most wrecked my car, forged checks, pawned tools and is now back behind bars. Another good example of bad luck would be the snow this winter, last time for south Texas snow was in the 1800s I think. I started this right before winter and had no idea the greens industry has advanced so much it's really amazing thing to see. Before I looked I thought I was being original LOL, website, columbia bay embroided shirts and caps,E-mail,you know the whole thing that I dont know how to do haha. O.K. maybe you can work something out and get with me. Buy the way your help with getting my trial download went great. From LLCO who is helping us with our marketing analysis. He is talking about the table posted above.

Quote[/b] ]The highlighted cells are cells that needed to be reviewed but are not critical to the analysis.

The average household spending table denotes the average spent per household where the primary householder is in the defined segment.

The second table is an index based on the average household spending. The average across the US is 100. If a specific segment is at 123 then the average spending is 23% above the average. If a specific segment is rated at 68 then the specific segment spends 32% less on average per household than the US market on average.

The third table is the biggest customer essentially the market share per specific target. I do not personally care for this indicator becuase it is too broad in certain areas (household type - married couples, married couples with children, single).

From the analysis, it appears that the ideal customer is 35-100 with a household income of 70K+. Married couples without children and couples with children over the age of 18, and single homeowners are our best target customers.

I realize that there are a ton of opinions on who makes the best customer (those that complain, those that are price shoppers, etc). Marketers have to assume that the highest propensity to buy is the most potentially profitable customer. This is not an operational analysis, it is a potential demand analysis and where the best potential markets are housed as well as how best marketing dollars can be spent in targeting.

I was able to validate this information with a very large fert company and it is very accurate to who they are targeting.

Happy Hunting!
