Even with two large internal hard drives, I still find need for more storage space and flexibility in moving files from desktop to laptop and sharing files with family and friends.
I picked up this nifty 250gig USB powered hard drive at Best Buy last week. It is small and light enough to literally fit in a shirt pocket.
I have owned external hard drives in the past but they always required A/C power and they were bulky. Since this dive is completely powered via USB, I can use it with my laptop in places where external power sources are unavailable.
The drive has a stated transfer rate of 480mb/sec. My test on a 10 gig file produced about 2/3 the stated transfer rate.
It's on sale for $119. With coupons printed from their website and a Reward Zone coupon I had stuck away, I paid just under $80.
