Hey guys,

here are ssome pics of the trailer that I finally manged to get. I went 2 summers without one and couldn't continue until I got one. It's a brand new 2006 model with 3 steel foot sides, upper tie down bar, single 3500 pound axel, 4 foot mesh drop gate, full side lights, and a special hitch. Thanks!

Luke

16ft x 7ft I got from a friend it has dual axles with brakes on both axles and the axels are what you call drop axles. They lower the trailer to the ground. I picked up for $600.00

I wanted a trailer like this with the higher sides because it protects my equiptment better, I can use it for fall and spring leaf cleanup, and it was a great price! The end gate locks into place because security is important where i live. My nexy syep is to add a trimmer/edger rack on the side. Have you ever seen these before? If you have, whats the best prices you've seen? Thanks!

That is better than the first trailer I started with. That should last you a couple years until you outgrow it.
Keep it up, your doing great! If you stick with it you have the potential to go real far with your business.

The trailer I have now is a 6x12. I built it from the frame up. The frame is from a 18 ft. camp trailer. I shortened it 6 ft and added some cross members for strength. Removed one axle, repositioned the other. Decked it with 12 ft doug fir 2x10's. Added a drop gate and 2.5 ft expanded metal sides. It has trailer brakes, but I dont use. I haul over 3000 lbs in it regularly and it hauls great. I am real happy with the way it turned out. I will post some pictures soon.

Luke,

Here you are, running your business as a teenager. You sound very successful at what you are doing. Can you give us a little advice to pass on to other teens in the business? Who should a teen in business look for advice on running their business. How involved should parents be.

How do you go about figuring out if you need to buy a new trailer or if you should buy a used one? Who helps you out with such decisions?

This all makes me think too maybe a forum section on teens in business would be helpful as well.

A teenagers section of the forum would be great! You should really think about adding it to the forum.

If you were interested, I would help out and answer alll these questions and any other ones from teenagers just like me!

Thanks!

Hi Luke,

I changed the new forum that was focusing on women in business to also include teens in business. Then if it pics up more traffic it can later be split up. I also set up the forum to say you are hosting the discussions! I hope you like it. Do you have other friends that run a business and are teens? Let them know of your new area and also feel free to post topics that deal with teens in business.

Let me know what you think.
