Here are some pics from pnplawn 'Rodman'

Hey guys I have been in business for while. I live in Avon Park FL. This is my 3rd season and I still dont have a logo. Was wondering if you guys could help me figure out one. My truck is a Isuzu NPR 1993 model. I will attached some photos with this email. I have a website its at http://www.pnplawncare.com . This truck was a big project. I obtained the truck from a friend. I traded my (baby) 1983 CJ7 jeep for it. I was in need of new lawn care truck and the jeep could not pull my equipment around very good so I traded the jeep for the Isuzu NPR. Come to find out after I got it the head was cracked, # 2 piston was bad. I had my work cut out for me. You can see the photos here http://www.pnplawncare.com/mytruck.html I had never rebuilt a Diesel before much less worked on one. I bought service manual started ordering parts. ( Costly Parts) The head was cracked in 3 spots. The #2 piston was beat all up. I struggled to get the money threw the dead of winter to be able have this truck ready by summer. I rebuilt it all by myself guys and it turned out good. When I got the truck back together I Learned the Turbo was bad. I was disappointed very much, The turbo was 729.00 at SE power equipment in Orlando FL. We now I am glad to report the truck is done. I did a good job rebuilding the engine. All new head, pistons , sleves, rings , bearings, so on that goes with rebuilding a engine. For my first motor and it was diesel I rebuilt it turned out fine. ( Thank God ). At the moment I don=92t have the cash to paint the truck. Maybe you guys could see what would look good on the sides? You can see photo of the truck here http://www.pnplawncare.com/mytruck.html scroll towards the bottom. And come up with logo for me ? Then I can maybe take it to a local shop see what they charge me to put it on there. Would like to get something that would cover much of the both sides.

Thanks Rodman Gomez PNP Lawn Care

Rodman,

You are really handy when it comes to customizing your truck!

I saw the rear lift gate pictures and they are awesome!

Your truck is looking nicer and nicer!

How about something like this?

tiedeman

I think that you should use the entire side of that truck. You know how they wrap things, I would almost do that with the entire side there. Would really grab some attention

Yes, a wrap would look great!
But your looking at thousands to do that, and just starting out most company's wouldnt have the extra money to do this.

My 2 cents...

Team Gopher,
That is awsome! That is worth 5 stars***** Now wonder how much that would cost that size?

Let's ask our resident sign designer.

Tony any thoughts on this?

Here it is in black.

Now to decide to go white or black. I really like the Black one.

With the new tank installed. I get ruffly 1400 miles. Depends if I am towing my 24ft trailer with my tractor. The tank holds 140 US Gals. Lucky for me my Father owns a trucking company and he allows me to fill it up using his company pumps.

Steve

Is that tank used to refuel equipment or as an additional truck tank?

What future updates do you plan on adding to your truck?

pnplawn
04-08-2007, 05:00 AM
That tank is used to fuel the truck. (Diesel) There is few more things that I want to do. I want to install Marker Lights all along the sides on the top and bottom of the box. You know how some semi trucks are lite up nicely at night. want to have the windows tented. Well I went filled the truck up this morning at my dads shop. Trust me it was sucking air how low it was on fuel. I have not fueled the truck up in 3 weeks. $361.00 to fill it up. I still have the tank that came with the truck on the side. (33USGAL) Its used as a reserve tank. I may outfit it with a 12V pump system that people use for equipment. To fill my Tractor when it needs fuel. I think it would be great reserve tank for fueling equipment. Ill post some photos when that is compete.

Thanks Gopher for all you guys do to help out LCO !

I had a thought. What if you wanted to do a logo on your truck for really cheap. Could you use an overhead projector and project the image on the side of your truck and then tape it out and paint it? It might take a couple of days to do the different color, but is it possible?

tiedeman
04-09-2007, 01:22 PM
I still like the idea of the wrap, but if you are going to choose between the white and black background, I would take the black. Just more eye popping

Steve
04-09-2007, 09:27 PM
Yea wraps are amazing but costly. White is clean looking but black is more classic looking.

I'd go with the black too.

I would love to have my hands on that truck though. Knowing me, I would probably do it in steps for the wrap. Do one side one year, and do the other side the other year just to save some money

pnplawn
04-11-2007, 10:58 AM
Hey doing one side per year? Naw I will do both sides when I do it.It will not look right for one side be done and other not. I will find someone or some place that I can afford to get it done.

we can make the vinyl for the truck, and make it easy to install yourself.
the design above can be done in plain vinyl...a wrap for that design wouldnt be needed.
A wrap is going to cost you $4-5K or more installed just about any place.
In plain vinyl we can send it to you with install instructions and tools for far less.

Little know fact:
Plain vinyl last 6-10 years.
Wraps last 3-6 years.

Also just ot note:
If you are going to paint the box, you need to wait at least 30 days to install vinyl or a wrap (60-90 days isnt uncommen).
Or it will fail much faster.

Very Nice!!!
I just moved up to a 16' Ford Box truck. Could you provide some details on the rear ramps and the 12 volt "jump stations" Love to see the interior layout and any other mods you've made or are planning. Very creative!

pnplawn

I will post a full report on the ramps and 12 jump system in a few days. I am sorry I can not reply right away to this but I promise I will.

sometimes doing bit by bit is the best way to go though if you have a tight budget. I have done it many times

I got the clutch in today. Man it was a job. Took about 6 hrs. Now its fixed and I will resume looking for engine for the other truck. Next week if its not cold I will paint the side of the truck. I was thinking getting a projector and project the image I want on the side and out line it hand paint it on. Think that will work great. Anyway will keep you up to date on the progress as it happens.

Just a comment... don't you think the black will draw more heat and make that box an oven? ...or are you worried about that? Do you have any kind of air vents at the top of the box?

pnplawn
11-05-2007, 12:24 AM
heat will not be factor. I will not be in the box that much. If it is too hot for some reason I will install a 12v exhaust fan in there to draw out heat.
