Do you ever get tips from your customers?

Whom do you tip for services at home? (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/homegarden/2003434348_tippinghome180.html) - For lawn-care crews on contract, Hicks suggests "maybe something at the end of the summer, $20 to $50 or the price of one mowing. And don't forget about the little things," such as a glass of lemonade.

I get lots of sodas during the summer, but not a cash tip yet, in 4 years.

Ive gotten several $100 tips. However, it depends on the client. Im not one to look for tips, and I alot of times refuse to take them, however some people insist, and for some of them $100 is what $10 is to me.

Well, they are the perfect customers. They spent about 10K this year altogether. They're yearly service customers and we installed a bit of landscaping for them as well this spring. They get the works, all year long.I give them extras at no cost from time to time.
They called this summer and wanted to know if I could switch service days one week. They were having guests from work over to their house on their scheduled day. So,of course I went a day earlier and spent extra time shaping the shrubs and making things look perfect for them. They really appreciated that and said their guests commented on how beautiful everything looked. They've been with me since the beginning and sent me some large referral jobs.

Just sent them a $200 wine gift basket for the holidays.
