View Full Version : Which Barcoder to use?

Gopher works with a "wedge" barcode scanner (meaning it treats the barcode data as if it was typed into the keyboard) that can read "Code 39 Extended" type barcodes.

To find one to purchase, use a search engine and look for Zebex
or ZBA "keyboard wedge" barcode scanner. Make sure it has a built in keyboard-emulation decoder.

Such as the one seen here

Contacted barcodegiant.com They said that the Zebex was no longer being manufactured?!?

They suggested a Unitech MS120-3PS2 instead (a little cheaper)

Got my Unitech MS120-3PS2 barcode scanner today. Are there specific tutorials for using barcode scanners? Or am I not looking in the right place for them? http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hi Crusher,

There is a Barcode Wand Frequently Asked Question Section here (http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST&f=2&t=896).

If you have further questions, we will add to it.

Thanks for the links....
OK the new wand seems to work just fine with the payments section. Question, how or where to go to scan in the completed jobs from the work sheets I generate? Say at the end of the day work sheets get returned and I use the scanner to "complete" the jobs in the database? http://www.gophergraphics.com/forum/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
