How do you fix the WinXp SP2 problem?

Hi Doug,

Download this Gopher 2004 version here (http://www.gophersoftware.com/update/gopher2004.exe). See if that resolves this issue.

Says that the InterBase server is not installed...?

Hi Doug,

Go into your c:\program files\ditech\gopher2003
directory and run the file ib_wi_os_020204.exe to install your InterBase Server.

Let us know if that resolves this problem.

Well this is just the trial that I'm trying to download, so all I have is the trial exe file, nothing else to run.

Hi Doug,

You first need to run the FULL installation of Gopher before you do anything else.

If after you install Gopher, you are getting the error that InterBase was not installed, you then need to run the ib_wi_os_020204.exe that will be found in your c:\program files\ditech\gopher2003

So I can't test the program through the trial? I downloaded the trial exe and as soon as it started to install the error in the first post showed up. So will that error not occur if I purchase the product?

Hi Doug,

You should be able to install the program and try it for 30-days. It should be fully-functional. If none of the above information helps resolve this, please call us Monday morning (888)606-5150 and we will help you further.

Well the guy in the first post got the same error that I did but he managed to fix it, and I was just wondering how he did that.

03-20-2005, 06:54 PM
It looks like he had downloaded the Microsoft service pack 2. You can find it here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx

Hmmm I tried downloading that again a little bit ago and it said that I already had it installed. So I went to remove it to see if that worked but it's not in my add/remove like it should be. I'm just really eager to try this product, don't know what's wrong.

Hi Doug,

I emailed sprinklerguy and let him know that you were running into the same problem as him. Hopefully he will post back on here what he did to resolve it. You can also call us here and we can walk through the installation if he doesn't post back.

I down loaded 30 day trial on 18/02/05
Got extremely busy it was spring here and needed to work almost on a 24/7 basis to keep up with my work and was round 13/03/05
Made some observations which I sent to Mike and didnt get a reply
Next time I looked at it on 23/03/05 my time had expired
Oh well thems the breaks some of us are too busy to be sitting at computers all day evaluating different software
From what I saw it was a good program and I may have bought it after making some modifications to fit in metric conversions but now who knows
I just deleted it

Hi Cash4Trash,

Thanks for postng. We are putting together a new update shortly. I don't know if your specific modification will be in there. We are currently working on the Palm and QB upgrade link.
Please understand that although we can't get in every modification requested we do try to continually expand the software as you can see.

I think the point I was making was maybe the 30 day limit is a bit too tight on some of us working folks
Instead maybe 60 days would be better but placing a limit say (10 customers) on the number of records that can be entered so at least we can have adequate time to evaluate it
Here in the Southern Hemisphere its just going into our busy period and the only time I get on the computer is if its pouring down with rain or I have caught up on my work
I would be interested to see what others think of this idea
