Leaving invoice at time of app

Say I'm doing an aeration or a lawn treatment.

I want to leave the invoice w/ the customer at the time of the service (to avoid mailing it out the next day).

I've been "completing" the job before I even leave the office.
Is this how I'm supposed to do it? *Or is there a better way?

Keep in mind the times I arrive and for whatever reason I need to reschedule or even cancel the job!

I end up setting up "credits" and it starts to get messy...

I guess I'm looking for a way to print a "preliminary" bill
That way if the service gets done I can leave it, if not - oh well, I'll just throw it away.

Hi RjCjR,

Here is a thought. If you cancel the job, you can always delete that invoice. If you don't perform that service, you can always edit the invoice to change the date and you should be ok. Let us know if you need further assistance.
