View Full Version : Quickbooks and Gopher

Can you please give me some details on how these two programs can work together? I just downloaded the trial version of Gopher, and I like what I see so far. I'm just worried how this will effect my book keeping. My Accountant is Quickbooks certified and all she needs from me at tax time is a backup of Quickbooks.

I guess I'm just being lazy, But what would be the best method to get started using Gopher? I just sent out statements for this month to all my customers. So should I wait until September before entering any info other then Customer list (which I figured out how to export from Quickbooks). I would like to play around with Invoices now, But I'm undecided if I should enter in Info that has already been entered into Quickbooks.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Soupy,

Did you know that you can import your customer list into Gopher from Quickbooks? Go to the top left of the screen and then choose FILE | IMPORT | Quickbooks Customer List.

Once you have your cusomers imported you can then schedule the jobs and be all set.

I imported my customers, but what i'm really unsure about is how to use both programs as one. I guess what I'm trying to ask is what is the best way to use Gopher for scheduling and billing and use Quickbooks Pro for Accounting?

Hi Soupy,

You would set up your schedule. Mark your jobs as completed as you go. At the end of the month you would click the "Generate" button and generate your invoices. Generating invoices means that Gopher will take all your completed jobs located in the Schedule page under the completed jobs tab, and it combines them into invoices.

Once you have made your invoices for the month you can go to the top left of your Gopher program click FILE | Quickbooks Link | Export To Quickbooks.
Choose the date range of invoices you want to export to QB and click the Export button.

Run your QB program and click on FILE | UTILITIES | IMPORT. Where it says select IIF file hold your CTRL button down and hit V to past the file name.
