I'm just getting started in the landscaping industry, and I am wondering what types of insurance I should have and how much in coverage for each type? I will be mostly cutting grass but hope to work into full on landscape installation in the next couple of years.

That depends on you and what you plan on doing. If you have a sole proprietorship then to me it is a must as you stand to loose everything if you screw something up.
Also your vehicle insurance will not cover and accident you get into while working unless you have commercial auto insurance. Also, if you plan on getting any good accounts like HOA and commercial stuff I believe most require 1 million and some around me require 5 million. Protect your own a$$ and spend the extra money now. If not you will end up paying it to a lawyer and still have to pay. Don't learn the hard way. I would say at least 500,000 general aggregate and a 50/100/50 auto policy. Mine runs 300 a month for both and that's a 1 mil general aggregate and 50/100/50 on a 2008 dodge diesel and I'm 22.
