Today is election day and is your chance to speak your mind on the direction of the country. Are you going to go out and vote today?

I don't know why anybody wouldn't vote (so long as they are capable to.) Too many soldiers have sacrificed so much so that the citizens of this great country could exercise their freedoms.

If you don't vote, don't complain.

That has been popular question today.I didn't vote and caught slack for it all day.My answer I've told all day is don't know who said it originally but the problems that exist in the world today cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them.lol.But I truly believe this. When someone runs that I think will make a difference I will vote.

Other than that, have fun Americans!

Yes.
I don't appreciate being told by some smug, socialist that "I didn't build that." (business)

I don't foresee him losing though. There are a LOT of mindless drones in this country.

Nope, sure didn't. BUT, I gave my dog a bath, mowed a few lawns, and cleaned my gun.

As big as our issues are, I think we need to start voting for two presidents, One Republican and One Democrat.

They need to come together as = representatives of each party and do what's best for America while they both are = acting presidents of America.

Who ever figured it was a good idea to separate American by creating both parties at home had an agenda other than America. Just Saying!

Yes I Voted too! :-)

Never will happen as long as your voting republican and democrat. The forefathers predicted the political parties would be the end of America.

I voted today for Gary Johnson.

The worst part will be going to work for all these lousy Obama voters in the morning. The same people responsible for the hardships we all endure.

I spent 4 years hunting down taliban/terrorists/AQI while with the Marine Corps. Lots on LOOOOONG hours, hard work, sacrifice....etc. First day in office, what does he do? Wants to release them. Close down Gitmo and release the majority. The ones he did release are now back to fighting us again. I have numerous reason for the dislike, but thats the main one.

I didn't vote as i'm in Australia :D

Looks like you guys are going to have a bumpier 4 years ahead of you...

Obama had a better marketing campaign, you weren't voting for him or his previous 4 years of nothing positive... but instead voting for his family! Thats how i percieved it from the opposite side of the globe - popularity contest!

I have even heard comments that claim she is becoming more influential than Oprah

Well, the majority have voted and the mob have spoke... unfortunately, the majority of people are always wrong (and usually broke too) as they are simply following the rest of the herd and can't comprehend common sense or logic

If Obama picks up the economy and has everyone making money, he will lose the next election... if he runs the country into the ground and slowly influences the market here and there with small improvements before the next campaign, there is a good chance he might get a 3rd term in office.

This is a world wide dilemma and not based or directed to any particular country! The european market is next to make drastic changes followed by developing countries.

In Australia, the mining industry has almost grinded to a halt... what does that mean on a world scale? China, India, Europe and America aren't spending on infrastucture. Iron Ore prices have almost halved in value over the past 6 months!!! Does this mean china's bubble may be about to burst if they have plenty of supply but no demand

Back on topic... Do you get fined if you don't vote?

Simmo.

Gitmo was never closed and Taliban/Alquada is now our ally in Egypt, Syria and Libya. America doesnt care who it deals with as long as it gets what it wants. Thats why they give guns to the same people who was shooting at you.

Presidents dont make policy. If you want a reason not to like Obama its he did what every other president did since Kennedy, he also signed executive orders Agenda 21 and NDAA.

The voting records of both candidates are the same. They both want to back Israel in attacking Iran. War has worked out so well for us why not. There will be no difference since there one in the same. The horse and pony show continues.

When the prez tried to shut down Gitmo, he also got shutdown. His policy was to close it. We don't have allies with taliban/AQI....no clue where you got that from. Do we support rogue milita's/insurgents that AQI may fund? Ya, its possible. And do we give guns to them? YUP! But, whoever says war never sold anything...I beg to differ.

I don't vote though. I never will. Just a bunch of unkept promises if you ask me.

There were 2 not very strong candidates. If people seriously think Romney would do a better job in the next 4 years they are mistaken. he promised 12 million new jobs?? Where are they coming from?? Back from overseas?? I doubt it. Just listening to the sh!t spew out of his mouth would make me want to puke. He is as transparent, fake and out of touch as most Hollywood stars or most people with incredible wealth. So do I think Obama is a stellar President??.... No but at least he is more grounded and in touch. I know Ill get bashed for this because of the famous excerpt from a very long speech about the government built your business and all that. I didnt like that either but listen to Romney talk is like nails on a chalkboard. How much money did he make and hide as to not pay taxes on it?? I know this is what rich people do but not rich people that are running for the presidency and pointing fingers at the other guy saying he spent too much of our money. Hes like Thurston Howell from Gilligans Island (if you guys remember back that far!!):D:D So yeah I voted Obama.

When I was a lot younger, in middle school, we had this thing called student council. Some of you may have it, others may not. It's when a student is voted in to be the class president. Every year, these kids would stand infront of all their peers on a podium, and read their speach to the whole class. For us, it was around 100...i think.

Do you know who always won? The kid who said:

"I will put soda machines in every classroom!"

"Recess for half the day!"

"...and I will put a stop to ALL homework!!!"

It has always stuck to me that every 4 years, these campaigns remind me of student council elections.

the sad part is after billions of dollars in campaigning ads for both romney and obama and countless hours of our lives wasted and people around this country complaining about this that and everything else and we basicly have the same exact government as we did monday morning.

same democratic controlled senate, same republican controlled house and the same old blamer in chief as president.

i can see the next campaign mantra in 2015 when biden is running for president, we inherited this mess and its all GWB's fault 8 years after the fact.

This is the end of my political comments on this forum. I just have to say if you dont think a majority of the problems that obama inherited 4 years ago werent George Dubs fault then you must not be able to see outside of a certain party line. DPLD in no way am I criticizing you personally but GWB was a terrible president and i even voted for him the first go round. Again if you are republican and steadfastly adhere to your parties lines then thats how you see it. But to be honest I dont see how people can say that GWB had no part in this mess we are in. Just my 2 cents and no disrespect meant DPLD.

Statistics show the economy, no matter what, goes down the pooper every several years. Some years are far worse than others. I don't think Bush had anything to do with the worlds economy. Just like the great depression or some of the other "hard times" this country has dealt with. Just the facts of life.

Steve- to get this forum hoppin, make a new thread. "Who voted for who, and why?"

Everything is a factor in the worlds economy including us and our president. Big companies sending jobs overseas, funding wars, etc. Oops, I said the last post of mine was the last:o Oh well.

the point is the current admin can not except any blame when something does not work.
no one ever said GWB was the best you just assumed that.

at the same token it can be hard to sit here and say that the current state of affairs are not the fault of the current admin as well.
everybody got over the meltdown, the banks got theirs, the unions got theirs and wall street keeps getting theirs.
the insurance co's got theirs but the every day common man is still sitting around waiting for theirs.
it is not a question of which party is right or wrong i frankly do not care and they are all to blame anyways.

yesterday turned out to be the biggest hyped out day and a complete waste of time and untold millions of dollars and further delayed the day to day operations of our government just to wake up today with the same basic do nothing government that we woke up to tuesday morning.

the whole electoral college is a farce and basically renders votes useless.

if you live in a blue state and vote red it gets voided out and means nothing and vise versa.
i live in new jersey and it is such a sure thing for the dems the president don't even come here on the campaign trail and when they tally the votes it is a automatic given, just like vermont.

at this point in time i could care less about GWB because he is not the president no more and has not been for 4 years and after 4 years on the job any person in this country has the right to question obama on it and he is obligated to answer.

i don't care who was president i just don't want a dysfunctional government and we had one before the election and we now have one after.

i take great pleasure in knowing that no one can blame the government no more they can only blame themselves the american people F'ed themselves in the A this time.
