parking lot striping

i am thinking about getting into parking lot striping/painting and joining it with my lawn business.. more less for slow seasons such as september october and winter times.. the only problem is i dont have any clue where to start! any input would be very greatly appreciated! now for the questions.... what kinda paint do i need to use? (other then an inverted can)
how do you charge? (by the foot? how much per foot)
getting started what kinda equipment other than a striper?

as i said before any info would be greatly appreciated and im in mississippi so dont be afraid ill take anyones business! i am just considering this because to my knowledge know one around my home town does this kinda work? just a thought maybe some input will make my mind up! thanks

Would you be striping new driveways or regoing over old stripes?

for now i would more then likely be "re doing" old stripes.. in the future maybe moving along to new lots

If you are just re-doing old stripes, I bet you could do it manually and have it look good.

You might even be able to do it with a narrow paint roller on a stick.

At first, I would keep it real simple. Try to estimate how long it would take you and bill your hourly rate plus materials.

Once you do a couple of them, you will get a better feel for the time it takes.

Keep us posted on how this job goes.

Take some pictures and let us know the actual time it takes once you do it.
