I been looking for a cheap ZTR to run a second crew with. I ended up getting this for $1250. Not to bad a price imo. Its a Great Dane Brutus 52" cut with a 27 hp kohler and 763 hours. She goes a good 8-10 mph.

How old is it? Not real familiar with them but it sounds super inexpensive.

This configuration was only made in 2008. The MSRP is $8,599.00. The deck is 7 gauge steel.
At that price I thought I was going to have a problem with it but I demoed it in the yard above. I havent found anything wrong with it yet.
I bought this at a lawnmower shop. I seen it while I was shopping for a trimmer head. They were asking $2000. I pulled out cash and walked out with it.

Looks plenty powerful judging by the way it looks like it wanted to go right through the front of the trailer.
:D
Sounds like you caught a good deal!

Not a bad buy but that is all it is worth, after a line is no longer produced the value of the equipment goes way down. Aftermarket parts should be available for a long time though.

lol, the kubota did that. The tractor broke the ramp the other day. I used the two missing boards for a temp fix and it broke them too. That little sucker is heavy.

Great Dane still makes the Brutus line, just not with the 27 hp kohler. They switched to a 25 hp kawasaki in 2009. Im assuming the parts are the same for different years. Have you had any experience working on these? I only see the standers around here.
The only negative things I read about this mower is it use to use a side mounted engine that didnt properly cool.

Great Dane stoped production in 2009 or 2010 depending on who you ask. here is a link to a dealer article about the fallout from it. http://www.greenindustrypros.com/article/10257886/ariens-company-phasing-out-great-dane-and-everride (http://www.greenindustrypros.com/article/10257886/ariens-company-phasing-out-great-dane-and-everride) and yes I have worked on a few of them, in fact I have one in my shop right that my twin brother owns. I do not agree with the side mounted engine now cooling also as hustler has never had a problem with that, and I have never seen any problems with anyone else, the reason some did not cool was no air flow from other parts blocking it or bagging units on them.
